Mike Miller could be on his way to retirement, so let’s take a look at how he fared this past season.

Mike Miller is the oldest veteran on the Nuggets’ roster. He served more of a player coach role this past year while only getting garbage time save for the last couple games of the year when Denver was out of playoff contention.

According to basketball-reference.com, Miller shot an effective field goal percentage of 56.5% on the year. He also had an offensive rating of 99 despite logging only a 7.6 average for minutes per game. Miller is not what he once was, but he still provides a great mentor for the young guns of this Denver Nuggets core.

Do not forget, he worked a little bit with Emmanuel Mudiay on his shot in Mudiay’s rookie season. Miller’s three point percentage was still impressive averaging 40% from deep on the season. Father time may have caught up with the guy, but he still knows how to stroke it from deep with a percentage like that.

I would not be surprised to see Mike in an assistant coaching role for the Nuggets if I am being perfectly honest. We will see if that happens though. Miller has been a great veteran mentor for Denver during his tenure with them. While he will most likely be gone next season, do not forget about the unseen intangibles he provided the Nuggets.

The guy could easily get away with being an official player coach like Metta World Peace is for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Miller didn’t see much time on the floor for the Nuggets this past season, but let us not take him for granted as this very well could be it for him and his long career.
