Connelly has reportedly been promoted to president of basketball of operations.

Kroenke has officially promoted Tim Connelly to president of basketball operations according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

This has opened the door for Arturas Karnisovas to be promoted to the general manager position that Connelly originally held. Karnisovas was a front runner for the Milwaukee Buck GM position. This goes to show how badly the Nuggets want to keep their front office intact and with good reason.

They felt a Karnisovas departure would hinder their progress too much, thus the promotions.  They have found quite a bit of success over the past few years during this rebuilding process.

They traded for Gary Harris a few years ago in the draft and were lucky enough to pick Jamal Murray in last season’s draft. The biggest accomplishment though is getting a second round steal though in Nikola Jokic. This the same budding star that had a Taco Bell commercial going when he was officially selected.

While every GM and front office has mistakes, the Nuggets’ front office over the past few years and done a great job in advancing the rebuild process ever since George Karl was fired. Denver was inches away from returning to the post season this year and a lot of that credit goes to the front office.

Without some of these draft picks over the past few years, Denver would not have been where they were at this season. Oh, and the collaborative efforts within the front office are expected to stay very similar, so fret not Denver fans.

With all of this in mind, I believe that both of these promotions were well warranted and that Connelly and Karnisovas both deserve them.
