With so many Western Conference teams making moves, the Denver Nuggets would not be in the playoff picture if the season were going on right now.

The Denver Nuggets came very close to the post season this past year. However, if the season were going on right now, they would be far out of contention. Why is that you ask?

Look at the Western Conference and the roster moves that have taken place. Almost every team besides the Nuggets has gotten better this off season. Hell, even the Sacramento Kings got better! I mean, has hell officially frozen over?!

The Nuggets with the exception of a couple of questionable draft picks and the addition of Trey Lyles, have pretty much stayed the same. An offensive oriented team needing a second star that needs defensive help in the worst way possible.

Meanwhile, Gallo is most likely out the door, Minnesota added a third star, Portland had a great draft, Sacramento actually drafted wisely and even teams like the Pelicans are going to get better come next season.

The only consolation is the Utah Jazz having to make a decision on George Hill and Gordon Hayward. If Hayward does in fact leave, it could possibly open the door for the Nuggets sneak into playoffs. However, that requires a lot of things to go right for Denver.

Unfortunately, as of right now, the Nuggets are no more than a ninth or tenth seed and they must make a move to correct this very soon.
