The Denver Nuggets were finally able to win a game in Summer League defeating the Houston Rockets 87-81.

The Denver Nuggets Summer League team finally pulled it off. After a couple of disappointing games that had many fans concerned, considering some of these players are the future of the franchise, Denver was finally able to secure their first win in Summer League competition.

This now leaves the Nuggets with a win loss record of 1-3. The man of the night was Torrey Craig (not to be confused with Robert Carter Jr.), who recorded a monster double double of 27 points and 11 rebounds. The good sign was that the Nuggets were able to hold the Rockets under 90 points which shows they may be capable of playing decent defense once in a while.

Houston shot only 36.6% from the field for the game. After allowing Zhou Qi to have a great outing in the first meeting between these two, the Nuggets held him to only 4 points this time around. What is concerning for Houston is the 7 foot behemoth only recorded 3 rebounds in total.

Monte Morris was another Nugget who had a solid outing. Morris poured in 15 points on 55.6% shooting and also had a box plus/minus of +15. The man was extremely efficient which is why Denver drafted him.

Malik Beasley slowed down a bit as he struggled from the field and only scored 9 points on 28.6% shooting. Tyler Lydon has not looked like a smart draft pick for Denver so far, as his struggles continued despite the win. Lydon only scored a point and had a box plus/minus of -2 to end the game.

Overall, Denver played a solid game and it was good for the youth to bounce back after dropping their first three games.

They will take on the Brooklyn Nets in their next Summer League match up.
