The Denver Nuggets have had a plethora of underrated personnel in their history.

When you think of Denver Nuggets’ superstars, you think of Carmelo Anthony, Alex English, Allen Iverson, Chauncey Billups and David Thompson. One may also say guys like Dikembe Mutombo, Dan Issel and Kiki Vandeweghe as well.

Not to mention, the current star of the franchise as of right now in Nikola Jokic. Those are usually the go-to guys that the average NBA fan believes were the “superstars” of the Denver Nugget’s franchise.

Well, I have a few not so well known stars that made a huge impact in the eyes of Nugget’s fans during their time in Denver. These guys were only to be serviceable role players with the franchise, but they ended up carving out a larger role with the team due to their surprising ability on the court.

They may not have been the same status of a Carmelo Anthony in his prime, but they still would have had a role on almost any team in the league. Guys like a Gary Harris who have worked their way up in the league and in the eyes of their respective peers may come to mind.

Denver has had quite a few of these players make their name with the franchise throughout their long and illustrious history. The only sad thing is that it has not translated into a championship…yet.

Without further adieu, let’s get into the four players who were surprise stars in the history of the Denver Nuggets’ franchise.
