The Denver Nuggets are just five days away from their preseason opener against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Denver Nuggets are inching closer and closer to taking the floor again since April. The last time the Nuggets were in action, they lost a heart breaker to the Minnesota Timberwolves which cost them a playoff spot in the Western Conference post season.

Regardless, the Nuggets are rearing to go and will be hungry to showcase their potential, even if it is only preseason. Playing LeBron James’ new team in the Los Angeles Lakers will only add more motivation for this young core.

Whether the starters and main bench unit will play heavy minutes yet, remains to be seen, but it will be intriguing to see how the players vying for heavy minutes will compete against a young Lakers team.

Some players to watch will be newly added Donald Sloan, who is on a two way deal for training camp at least, Malik Beasley, Thomas Welsh, Jarred Vanderbilt and last year’s lottery draft pick, Tyler Lydon.

It will be interesting to see how this squad tries to slow down LeBron in the small amount of time he is out on the floor and if they can win in the battle of the young cores.

With media day going on right now for the Nuggets, it seems like seeing our Denver Nuggets back in action is only a matter of time after the long and grueling off season. We will get a taste of how Denver’s impressive off season will pay off this coming NBA season.

Will Isaiah Thomas re-gain his form? Will we see Michael Porter Jr. at all?
