The Celtics and Nuggets played a great game Sunday night, as the Celtics pulled it out 118-114 in triple overtime.

Denver trailed for the majority of regulation and hit some clutch shots at the end of the game to send it to overtime. The score stood 92-90 with five seconds left when Ty Lawson was able to tie the game up on a lay up.

Feb 10, 2013; Boston, MA, USA; Boston Celtics small forward Paul Pierce (34) loses control of the ball against Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson (left) and small forward Corey Brewer (right) during the second half at TD Garden.
The game went to overtime and Jeff Green helped keep the Celtics in it. With under 30 seconds left, Green hit a three-pointer to tie the game up, and it would eventually go to a second overtime. In the second overtime, it was Paul Pierce who was the savior for the Celtics. After missing a free throw earlier that hurt the team, he wanted the shot at redemption and got it. With five seconds left, Pierce launched up a contested three which went in to tie the game up at 107-107. Once triple overtime rolled around, Kevin Garnett was the man for Boston, scoring six points in the period. Jason Terry hit a huge three-pointer to help to make the score up 116-113 and the Celtics would eventually win by four.

Danilo Gallinari came alive in overtime, as he did his best to keep the game alive. He scored ten points in the three overtime periods and finished the night with eighteen altogether. Ty Lawson played an awesome game for the Nuggets, picking up 29 points, nine assists, and six rebounds. Kenneth Faried had another double-double, with fourteen points and twelve rebounds.

Feb 10, 2013; Boston, MA, USA; Denver Nuggets small forward Kenneth Faried (35) dunks the ball against the Boston Celtics during the first half at TD Garden.
Andre Miller picked up forty minutes off the bench and finished the night with 15 points. He contributed six assists as well, to add onto his career total, which he ranks tenth all-time in. He had a tough time in the third overtime period though, as the final minute featured him turning the ball over and missing a potential game-tying shot. JaVale McGee only had 5 points, but helped out big time in the rebound department, leading the team with 16. Cory Brewer added 13 points of his own off of the bench.

On the Celtics side, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry were the guys who really helped the team out. Pierce played the biggest role out of the three, picking up a triple-double. Garnett scooped up 20 points and 18 boards, and Terry contributed big time with 26 points. In the shadows of those three, was Jeff Green, who picked up a quiet 17 points, which included his clutch three-pointer in the first overtime session.

The game was fun to watch, and the winning streak had to come to an end at some point, as the Nuggets were unable to win their tenth game in a row. They stand at the record of 33-19 now and will travel to Toronto to take on the struggling Raptors, Tuesday night, at 7 P.M.

The Nuggets looked like a playoff team Thursday night with a 128-96 win over the Chicago Bulls. Six players finished in double figures for the Nuggets, as Kenneth Faried and Ty Lawson each finished with a double-double. Lawson finished the game with 16 points and 12 assists, and Faried racked up 21 points and 12 rebounds. On top of his double-double, Lawson also finished the game with an extremely impressive +/- of +40.

The three others starters for the Nuggets, Danilo Gallinari, Andre Iguodala, and Kosta Koufos, combined for 33 points. Gallinari scraped together 15 points and Iguodala finished with a quiet 14 point night.

Seven players scored off the bench for Denver and the leading scorer on the night for the Nuggets was one of them. Wilson Chandler had a season high 24 points, which was the most by any player on the team for the night. JaVale McGee finished his night with ten points.

The Nuggets led 33-25 after the first quarter and did not look back. They led 63-58 at halftime and blew the game wide open once the third quarter rolled around. Denver put up 37 points in the third, as Chicago managed to only scrap together 16. They also outscored the Bulls in the fourth quarter, by the score of 28-22.

On the Bulls side, four players finished in double figures. Daequan Cook, Nate Robinson, Loul Deng, and Carlos Boozer combined for 62 points, as Cook lead the team with 19. Joakim Noah, who came into the game averaging a double-double, was a non-factor in the matchup, finishing the game with five rebounds and two points.

Team stats went in the Denver favor in almost every category. The Nuggets shot 58% from the field and 47% from three-point land. They finished the game 19-23 (81%) in the free-throw department. Denver also out rebounded Chicago, and had more assists, blocks, and steals. Only ten turnovers were committed by the Nuggets and the teams were tied in total teams fouls with sixteen.

When the game was all said and done, the Nuggets put together one of their best games of the season. A dominate third quarter helped lead them over the Bulls and they advanced to the record of 32-18. Denver remains one of the hotter teams in the league, as they have won 21 of their last 27 games. The team goes on a four-game road trip, which opens up in Cleveland, Saturday night, at 7:30 P.M.
