The Idaho Stampede were the Nuggets’ affiliate last year and Jordan Hamilton played six games for the Stampede and Julyan Stone played three.

No doubt Denver will be more active with the Energy this season, especially after drafting Evan Fournier and Quincy Miller, who are both 19 years old.

The Energy are also affiliates for Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Hornets and Washington Wizards.

He also has had a very strong summer league, same with Edwards which warranted them invites.

Sims, who a 6-foot-11, 248 pound center out of Michigan, played for the Los Angeles Lakers Summer League team. He graduated college in 2007 and has played in five games in the NBA. He also spent three seasons in the NBDL and had his most success in 2008 when he played with the Iowa Energy. He averaged 22.8 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks a contest.

He is similar to Johan Petro with his length, but is more aggressive on the court and is more coordinated on offense. Considering the Nuggets haven’t added DJ Mbenga to the roster yet, Sims may have a good shot at making the squad.

Edwards, who is a 23-year-old that graduated from Arkansas-Little Rock, had a very good summer league which warranted him an invite to training camp, another player that made a similar leap was Dahntay Jones.

Like Jones, he is more of a hustle player with no outside game. Edwards is a little bigger and can play either forward position.

Forbes is the ideal shooting guard, he has great size, great mid-range game and has great basketball IQ. He is a good slasher and tends to play bigger than his size. The downside of his game is he is a very weak defender. Considering that the Nuggets have J.R. Smith and Arron Afflalo on their squad it may be a uphill battle for the UMass star.
