Carroll didn't play much for the Grizzlies, but was used to defend Carmelo Anthony.

Like many teams around the NBA, the Denver Nuggets are taking their chance now to check out free agents before the potential lockout begins.

And according to the always reliable Ridiculous Upside, the Nuggets will host a three-day workout for prospective players this weekend.

Highlighting the workouts are former NBA players Mickael Gelabale, Joe Alexander, DeMarre Carroll, J.R. Giddens and Rodney Carney. Alexander, Carroll, Giddens and Carney were all drafted in the first round. (more…)

Denver has had a knack of getting the most out of players that have been overlooked and in need of getting a second chance. Players like Dahntay Jones, Chris Andersen and Anthony Carter fit the bill.
