As a Nuggets fan, you have to be happy with where they are at this point in the season. Denver is currently sitting in No. 8 place in the Western Conference with a 1.5 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Why should you feel happy about this? The Nuggets have played just 13 of their first 35 games at the Pepsi Center.

In those 13 games, the Nuggets are 11-2 and are just percentage points behind the 14-2 San Antonio Spurs for the best home record in the league. For the remainder of January, the Nuggets schedule is as follows:

January 6 – @ Los Angeles Lakers

January 9 – vs Orlando Magic

January 11 – vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

January 13 – vs. Golden State Warriors

January 15 – vs. Portland Trailblazers

January 16 – @ Oklahoma City Thunder

January 18 – vs. Washington Wizards

January 20 – vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

January 23 – @ Houston Rockets

January 26 – vs. Sacramento Kings

January 28 – vs. Indiana Pacers

January 30 – vs. Houston Rockets

Out of the remaining 12 games of the month, the Nuggets will be playing nine of them at home. Plus when you take into account that Denver will open up February with three straight at home, Nuggets fans should feel at ease.

If the team can repeat the performance that they had Saturday night against the Utah Jazz and over this season at home, then one would have to think they Denver should move up the conference ranks at the beginning of February. To say this is the most crucial part of their schedule this season is an understatement. Especially considering they’ll only play at home twice the rest of February after the opening week.
