The Nuggets have caught a case of the injury bug as of late, with two starters now banged up. Before the All Star break, Andre Iguodala hurt his neck and missed two games because of it. When he came back from the break, he didn’t fare too well on the court. He missed all seven of his shots and made only one free throw in the Nuggets first game back on the court. He did have seven assists, two steals and a block but it was clear he was out of rhythm.

Now, Ty Lawson is down with an ankle injury. The injury came Wednesday after he scored 26 points the night before in a win over the struggling Celtics. The game marks the fourth game in a row that Lawson has scored over 25 points. He’s averaging 22.5 points, 8.8 assists, and 1.9 steals per game in the month of February. His strong play has been one of the reasons that the Nuggets surged through February with a 9-game winning streak.

Lawson’s injury is listed as day-to-day and he will be reevaluated today. The extent of the injury has not been discussed. The Nuggets play back-to-back games this weekend on Friday and Saturday so news should be out soon on whether or not he’ll be able to go. If he doesn’t, Andre Miller will step in for Lawson.
