The Denver Nuggets have been shaking thing up in this draft. Starting with the 27th pick which was heavily rumored to be traded. The Nuggets selected 7’2″ French center Rudy Gorbert only to trade him to the Utah Jazz for the 46th pick and cash considerations, according to Benjamin Hochman. The Nuggets appear to be content with their youth or think they can get the guy they want in the second round.
Also ESPN’s Mark Stein recently tweeted out that the Memphis Grizzlies have a trade in the works. The Grizzlies will trade Darrell Arthur and the 55th pick to Denver for Kosta Koufos. Darrell Arthur will make 3.2 million this season and has a player option of 3.4 million for next season. This adds to the cap for the Nuggets. It also clears the starting center position for Javale Mcgee. One of the main reasons George Karl was let go was his playing of Kosta Koufos over Javale Mcgee. It appears that won’t be a problem anymore. This trade also makes it more likely for the Nuggets to bring back Timofey Mozgov as they will have very little depth at the center position.
