The Nuggets got back on track last night as they beat the Orland Magic 120-112. The win was much needed, and it snaps their mini-funk. The Nuggs scored 120 points which is a great sign for the offense. The magic are one of the worst teams in the NBA but a win is a win at this point in the season for the Nuggets. Tomorrow night the Nuggets will take on the Heat, so another loss would have been devastating.
How great has Kenneth Faried been? He has been so exciting to watch and is making double-double’s look so easy. His energy has always been there but this new scoring ability is a true joy to watch. Last night he scored 26 points and had 9 rebounds. Thank God the Nuggets held on to the athletic forward because he is tearing it up right now for Denver. Also having a great game for the Nuggs last night was Wilson Chandler. The forward woke up and posted 21 points and 10 boards. It was nice to finally see him play well as he has been extremely disappointing for the Nuggets.
Aaron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson led the way for the Magic in their loss. The combined for 43 points and they kept Orlando in the game for the most part. Also playing well for the Magic was Nikola Vucevic. Vucevis had 20 points and 16 rebounds and he is doing this on a nightly basis. The Magic hung around for a while, but simply could not pull away from the Nuggets.
The win was nice for Denver and they really needed it. Ty Lawson obviously has been leading the Nuggets and he still has not slowed down. It will be interesting to see how this team ends up in the standings, but tomorrow is going to be tough. They take on the Miami Heat at 7:30. Be sure to follow along for updates.
