Should the Nuggets bring in Billups for Front Office/Coaching?
By Eric Meyer
As was posted earlier today on NuggLove by Mike Catalino, Chauncey Billups has retired after 17 seasons in the NBA. My immediate thought at hearing the news was…Should the Nuggets approach Billups for a position in their front office and/or on the bench as an assistant coach? Billups is widely considered to be one of the smartest basketball minds around the NBA and could offer great value in player evaluation in the front office, or a great Tudor for the Nuggets best player, Ty Lawson. As we in Denver all know, Billups is the greatest basketball player ever to come out of the state of Colorado and still makes his home in Denver. I think the Nuggets should at least make the phone call before another team snatches him up to help out with their guards or front office. I think Chauncey would relish the opportunity just as John Elway has in coming back to the Broncos in a front office capacity and helping the team he grew up rooting for become a championship contender. So Nuggets……It’s your move!
