Faried makes FIBA All-Tournament Team
By Eric Meyer
Denver Nuggets Power Forward Kenneth Faried has truly arrived as an NBA star after his performance in the FIBA World Cup Tournament. Faried was named to the All FIBA First Team after Team USA’s 129-92 drubbing of Serbia in the Gold Medal game. Faried finished the Tourney with averages of 12.4 Points and 7.8 Rebounds which led the team in that category. 35 of Faried’s 70 rebounds were on the offensive end of the floor getting the team additional chances and he also blocked 5 shots in the tournament. His shooting percentage of 63% also led the team and as a result Faried was named to the All-Tourney Team along with his teammate, Kyrie Irving, Pao Gasol of Spain, Nicolas Batum of France and Milos Teodosic of Serbia.
Faried may have earned himself a big payday with his play but he definitely proved that he belonged with the NBA’s elite players with his performance in the Tournament. Congratulations to Kenneth Faried on a great tourney and thanks for helping to bring home the Gold to the US of A!
