There were a lot of question marks around Mozgov to start the season, especially with fans wondering if he deserved to hold the starting center spot over JaVale McGee, and I think his performance against the Pistons went a long way to silence some of that noise. Like it or not, I think Moz as starting center isn’t just written in pen, it’s damn near chiseled in stone. McGee is exciting and uber-athletic, but Mozgov is a big, physical presence in the paint whose defense is improving right before our eyes. He grabbed 7 of his 11 boards on the defensive end and was credited with two big blocks. If he can come anywhere close to averaging double figure point totals game in and game out (he had 13 last night), he’s going to make sure the only time we see McGee is coming off the bench.. Center. Denver Nuggets. TIMOFEY MOZGOV. B+
