Midway through the first quarter of tonight’s game between the Denver Nuggets and the Sacramento Kings, JaVale McGee gave DeMarcus Cousins a rude welcome to the Mile High City.
As the shot clock ran down, Cousins moved toward the basket and tried to sneak a quick one-hander past the Nuggets defense, but McGee was having no part of it:
Prior to the game, it was announced that JaVale McGee has moved up the depth chart and is now listed as the team’s #2 center behind Timofey Mozgov and ahead of rookie Jusuf Nurkic. That should come as no surprise to fans who enjoy seeing the free-spirited 7-footer guarding the paint for the Nuggets. With defense like this, it’s no surprise that he’ll be seeing increased minutes early in the season.
