Here we go again, Nuggets fans.

Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post is reporting that two Denver Nuggets are expected to miss time due to injuries. Center JaVale McGee left Sunday night’s game against the Lakers with an apparent leg injury, and now Dempsey is reporting that McGee is expected to miss at least tonight’s game against the Chicago Bulls:

Of greater concern is Dempsey’s report that back-up guard Randy Foye is likely out 3 weeks due to a more significant injury:

Neither player’s absence will impact the starting lineup, since both JaVale McGee and Randy Foye are coming off the bench this season, but they have provided solid production so far. Foye is averaging 8.4 points and 2 assists per game in 19 minutes per contest, but he is one of the team’s top three-point shooters in terms of percentage and number of makes per game. McGee is playing just 11.5 minutes per game, contributing 5.6 points, 3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. The Nuggets have depth at both the shooting guard and center positions, so they should be able to weather the duo’s absence, but let’s hope both players are healthy and back in the mix sooner rather than later.

After last year’s team was ravaged by injuries, you can’t blame Denver Nuggets fans for getting a little nervous when the topic of injured players comes up. Fingers crossed this isn’t a harbinger of things to come.
