Nate Robinson only played 9 and a half minutes during Monday night’s game that saw the Nuggets down the Utah Jazz 103-101, but that didn’t stop him from delivering the best pass of the night.

With the Nuggets rolling during the first half, Robinson came into the game to give starter Ty Lawson a breather, and he went to work showing the Jazz that just because the second unit was on the floor, they still meant business. Robinson drove to the basket and blew by Jazz point guard Trey Burke. As Utah’s Enes Kanter slid over to meet Robinson near the hoop, Nate threw a nasty, no-look, behind-the-head dime to J.J. Hickson, who filled the lane behind him. Hickson bobbled the ball a bit, but after a couple of quick head-fakes, he put the ball in the hoop and drew the foul to boot.

Here’s the play in all it’s slo-mo glory:

After watching that play, it’s no wonder Utah Jazz head coach Quinn Snyder looked so miserable on the bench:

Spectacular plays are nothing new for Nate Robinson, who has made a career out of posting impressive plays during his nearly ten years in the league. So far this season, he’s averaging just under 14 minutes of action per game, and he’s posting solid numbers in his role backing-up Lawson. He’s appeared in all 17 games this season, averaging 5.8 points, 2.1 assists and .5 steals per contest. Those aren’t eye-popping numbers, but they show Robinson is more than capable of serving as the Nuggets floor general when called upon.

It’s nice to see Mr. Heart Over Height back making plays this season after missing a good chunk of last year with a knee injury.
