Weekly Northwest Division Roundup

facebooktwitterreddit

The Northwest Division has turned into a two-team race between the Portland Trailblazers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. There are six and a half games separating the two teams in the standings, with a month remaining in the regular season.

This past week has been a rough one for the division overall. The Denver Nuggets went 1-3 in the four games they played, with every starter missing at least a game. All together, the division combined for a 7-8 record against the rest of the league.

The Oklahoma City Thunder had the best week, compiling a 3-1 record, but they also found out that Kevin Durant may miss the rest of the season.

The Utah Jazz also had a winning record (2-1) thanks to their great defense, but they are six games under .500.

The Portland Trailblazers are still figuring out how to play without their third option, Wesley Matthews, who suffered a season-ending Achilles heel injury. Former Nugget Arron Afflalo has played well in his absence, but the Blazers still went 3-1 on the week.

The Minnesota Timberwolves season was over before it began. However, they managed to pull out an overtime win against the New York Knicks this week.

Here is a detailed roundup for the Northwest Division for the third week of March.
