The Denver Nuggets interviewed Mike D’Antoni for their head-coaching vacancy today. This is huge news as there have been rumors for weeks now that both parties were interested in each other. The Nuggets are still without a head coach, and D’Antoni is still looking for a job.
D’Antoni has not coached since being fired by the Lakers, and he seems to be a good fit for Denver. The Nuggets are likely looking to have their new coach locked up before the draft so that their man can select the player he wants.
After this recent report, it would not be surprising at all to see the Nuggets hire D’Antoni in the coming days. He has familiarity with the organization, and also has a tremendous track record. The Nuggets would be smart to get a set of fresh eyes as the new coach and to move on from interim head coach Melvin Hunt.
