The Grizzlies were in the playoffs last year, but were without Gasol and Conley for majority of the later part of the year and playoffs, which ended them as the 7th seed. They could end up losing Mike Conley this offseason and that would likely take them out of playoff contention as both Tony Allen and Marc Gasol are getting into their early 30s and Zach Randolph turning 35 this offseason. They do, however, have some talent on the roster and could possibly sign Mario Chalmers back to a deal this offseason, which could help if they do lose Conley.
The Grizzlies roster is one of the oldest in the league. With players like Carter, Barnes, Allen, and Randolph on the roster, it’s looking like the Grizzlies will be headed towards a rebuild sooner rather than later.
