#6- 1986 NBA Draft- Mark Alarie– Drafted #18

Denver was in need of a PF/C for their team, and they chose to go with Mark Alarie after already drafting a small forward at 16, Maurice Martin. These players were definitely far from spectacular for the Nuggets.

Martin played 69 games for the Nuggets and averaged 3.0 points per game, and he ended up retiring at 24 after just a couple short seasons. As for Mark Alarie, he played for Denver only one season, and then he was traded to the Washington Bullets. During his best season, he averaged 10.5 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game. This is who they passed on…

Dennis Rodman

The Denver Nuggets have no excuse on this one; they straight up just passed on Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman. Rodman was drafted #27 in the draft, and was part of Michael Jordan‘s big three.

Rodman was known for much more than just MJ’s sidekick though. In his 91-92 season, Rodman, who was never much of a scorer, averaged 9.8 points per game AND 18.7 REBOUNDS per game. Rodman was a five-time champion and lead the league in rebounds 7 times.

Rodman was a dominate force in the NBA for years, and he was also known for his outrageous hair colors. The Nuggets truly missed out on a great.
