With free agency just a day away, the Denver Nuggets need to look at Charlotte Hornets Small Forward Nicolas Batum.

According to NBA.com, the memorandum period for signing free agents has been brought forward five days which means that eligible candidates that want to be signed and have a deal in place can now do so on July 7th.

Nicolas Batum, who played last season with the Charlotte Hornets, is now an unrestricted free agent and will hopefully surprise the world by signing with Denver. This team is stocked full with youth and depth, but the Denver Nuggets also do not have much consistency. Health problems, three-point woes, and other problems killed the Nuggets last season.

But, even if we did attempt a hostile takeoff of Batum, Denver would have a handful of competition.

Oh, and Golden State has interest in this super role player, Batum.

What is even more shocking than if Batum leaves Charlotte is that the Denver Nuggets are reportedly interested in Kevin Durant, but have not batted an eye at Batum.

This Frenchman stands 6’8″ tall and weighs 200 pounds.Batum has played 7 out of his 8 NBA years with the Portland Trailblazers.

Batum, in the majority of his NBA years, has not been the go-to-player but more of the solid role players; therefore, why should Denver even go for such a player?
