1. Timofey Mozgov– Los Angeles Lakers, four-year $64 million

Timofey Mozgov was the first free-agent signed of the 2016-2017 season. The deal was laughable, and it may have kick-started the wave of overspending throughout the NBA this week.

The Lakers were in such a rush to offer Mozgov to a 16 million dollar per year deal, it almost seemed like they wanted to mess with the league.  Mad about the rough season last year? Congrats L.A., you created chaos.  All kidding aside, at least the Lakers got their hands on an NBA Champion.
