7. Austin Rivers– Los Angeles Clippers, three-year $35 million

Austin Rivers just became a very expensive backup point guard, forcing his dad (Doc Rivers) and the Clippers to offer him a 3 year, $35 million deal.  He’s 23, and he’s become a key part of the Clippers game, but it appears he’s at his max potential.

A player, who can put up 8.9 ppg (43.8% from the field) off the bench, is crucial, but his assist numbers seriously are lacking, averaging only 1.5 apg last season.  This is a big pay day for a player who isn’t utilizing his top-tier supporting cast as well as he should.
