#3: Sign-and-Trade

There have been countless rumors about Dwyane Wade signing with the Cavs to reunite with Lebron James again. It make sense, considering the recent rise of the Warriors and that Wade and James are best friends and won two titles together in Miami. However, there is an issue. The Cavs only have $3.2 million to offer Wade. That is nowhere close to what Wade is looking for.

There is a way around this. And that is where Denver comes in. The Nuggets have the money to sign Wade to a deal he is happy with. If this happens, the Nuggets and Wade could use each other to get what they ultimately want. After signing him, the Nuggets would trade Wade immediately to the Cavs so that Wade can have the contract he is happy with and can play in Cleveland with James.

The Trade:

This sign-and-trade could work because the Cavs will be dumping Love and William’s contracts which would give them enough money to take on Wade’s deal. The trade would end up working out for the Nuggets because they are getting a star power forward (a position they need to improve) who is a great shooter and rebounder.

While the sign-and-trade is extremely unlikely, it is very interesting to think about. After watching Durant choose the Warriors, we know that anything is possible in the offseason. Both sides could end up getting what they want in a sign-and-trade deal.

Wade still has yet to sign an offer with Denver, therefore these are all still possibilities, but this could very soon become reality, and we will all be waiting here with Denver’s next moves.
