The Denver Nuggets suffered their first loss of the Las Vegas Summer League to the Miami Heat. Here are three positive takeaways from this loss.

The Denver Nuggets, who were up five at half, ultimately were in disarray as the Heat outscored them by ten in the fourth quarter.

The Nuggets struggled to defend the three as they gave up 17 threes. 10 of the 17 threes were from the Heat’s McGruder and Lee. They allowed the Heat to shoot 51.5% from behind the arc which is outstanding. And, the worst part is that the Heat played without their two second-year studs, Winslow and Richardson.

The Nuggets may have lost, but they can still bounce back as they will enter the Las Vegas Summer League tournament which will start July 13.

Here is the full rundown of the star performers in this matchup.

  • Jamal Murray– 29 points (on 10-25 shooting)
  • Jimmer Fredette– 18 points (on 3-6 from three)
  • Juancho Hernangomez- 14 points (on 6-7 shooting), 12 rebounds, and 5 assists
  • Rodney McGruder– 23 points (on 5-8 from three)
  • Damion Lee- 17 points (5-7 from three)
  • Okaro White- 11 points and 8 rebounds
