The Obvious

What defines a superstar? In the modern day NBA, it seems to be one that can score at a high level. We consider Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook to be superstars, right? Well, as for Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry and even Russ at times, they do not perform like superstars defensively.

Therefore, it seems scoring is the one accolade that each of these “superstars” has.

Jamal Murray, my friends, has already proven that he is a scorer beyond his years.

With 29 points in two out of his last three summer league games and a 20 point game in the middle, Jamal Murray has proven that he can score from the field, the free throw line, and from behind the arc.

Here is a highlight clip of Murray’s dominating perform in his last Summer League game against the Suns.

Pick & roll, spot ups, put backs, drives- Jamal Murray has proven that he can do it all. Jamal Murray has turned into a beast offensively, and this confidence will only grow. He started out the Summer League slow and hesitant, but right as the games started to pick up, he was right there.

Well, if scoring defines a superstar, it looks as though Murray has that aspect down pat.
