Jusuf Nurkic has put in work this offseason. He trimmed down 35 pounds, and apparently he is now shooting threes.
Jusuf Nurkic dropping 35 pounds has been a raving story among Denver columnists. Even we, here at Nugg Love, did an article on Nurkic dropping the weight. But, is it time we look at another aspect of his game? Jusuf Nurkic has posted on Facebook about his continued improvement from behind the arc. What? Jusuf Nurkic could be shooting threes next season?

The Bosnian Beast, as Nurkic is also called, has solidified the backup center role behind Serbian Nikola Jokic. Jusuf Nurkic was a beast in the time that he earned last season. He averaged 8.2 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game in a measly 17.1 minutes per game.
Albeit, he did not shoot well (only 41.7%). Nurkic has been not only practicing his long ball, but he also put in work in his mid-range game.

What will this mean Denver? It could mean the world. The second unit will already be one of the best in the NBA. Murray, Barton, Chandler, Arthur, and Nurkic will most likely round out this unit. If Nurkic can continue to knock down the open three, it will open up the court and allow more driving for the explosiveness of Chandler, Barton, and Murray.
This could be a big step forward for Nurkic, and it will be great for spacing the floor on offense. He must be consistent, and he will need to continue to work on his shot. But, in his video, he hit 4/5 which is a percentage that I would take every time.
