3 – Sacramento Kings

The Nuggets and the Kings faced-off three times, and each game came late in the season. Playoff spots were starting to be clinched, and the remaining spots continued to dwindle. With both teams fighting for a streak of wins that could lift them into that 8th playoff spot, every game of this series proved vital for both teams.

The Nuggets lost all three.

They were pretty close games too, ending with deficits of six, four, and nine points (respectively). Yet, even after winning every game of the series, the Kings were unable to clinch a playoff spot. They, like the Nuggets, will try again to make the cut in this upcoming season.

The Kings may be looking forward to match-ups with the Nuggets, as last season it meant three wins for their organization. The Nuggets may be eager for more match-ups as well, but for very different reasons. The Kings have since lost Rajon Rondo, who played a big role in their wins over the Nuggets. This may open the season up for some sweet revenge. Only time will tell, but fans of the Nuggets can confidently bet on their squad being fired up.
