The 2016 Slam Dunk contest introduced many NBA fans to Will “The Thrill” Barton, but he’s not the only nicknamed Nugget on the roster.

For players of any caliber, a great nickname can mean a legacy, and with today’s NBA being as flashy as it is, a renaissance of classic nicknames may just be upon us.

“Air Jordan” has given birth to “Air Gordon” (Aaron Gordon, who many NBA fans claim was robbed of the 2016 Slam Dunk Contest trophy) as more and more characterized NBA players gain popularity.
