“The Blade” Alex English

What he did: 25.9 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 4.4 APG and an 8 time All-Star

Why he deserves this spot: At the peak of his career, no one could stop Alex English from scoring. His jump shot was almost unblockable, because he had such a high-hand release.

Everything about how English scored was just so beautiful. From his near-perfect shooting stroke to the arc and spin of the ball, you couldn’t ask for a better jumper.

It showed on-the-court as well, as he lead the league in total points scored between ’80 and ’89, with just over 20,000 points.

English is the best representation of the Nuggets teams he played on in the ’80s: phenomenal yet for some reason consistently overlooked and underappreciated.

He was one of the best to play in the ’80s, and one of the best at scoring the basketball. English holds a place in the Denver Nuggets record books as well as the heart of every Nugget fan.

It’s also worth noting that he actually played with three other players on this top-10 list: Dan Issel, Fat Lever and David Thompson.

The Denver Nuggets are a storied franchise and hopefully will continue to be one well into the future. To end, give us your favorite memory of the Denver Nuggets whether it last season or 20 years ago!
