Just missing the number one spot is the Memphis Grizzlies center, Marc Gasol.

Marc Gasol has been known as one of the better centers in the NBA during his eight year career, and was doing a pretty good job showing that until he went down with a devastating injury last year. During the 2014-2015 season, the last full season that Gasol was fully healthy, he averaged about 17 points and eight points per game. He had a field goal percentage that was right at 50 percent, and the Grizzlies would take his and Mike Conley’s momentum to the playoffs every season. The stats may not show it, but in mine and many others’ minds Marc Gasol is one of the best centers in the NBA when he is fully healthy. One big reason that this claim can be seen as true is because of the leadership that Gasol brings into the Grizzlies. Many could see the life come out of the team during last season when he went down, so there is no doubt that he plays a big role in the team’s overall play.

I still know that it’s not hard to shoot a free-throw worse than Jordan and Drummond, but for a center, he shoots free throws pretty well. He has a career total of a 76.4 free-throw percentage, but before he went down last season, he was shooting about 83 percent from the line. This just proves that when he gets his opportunities, he capitalizes, becoming a very good mid-range shooter as well in the later stages of his career.

When the Grizzlies have Gasol, they are a very good team to look out for in the Western Conference, and they should be ecstatic to get him back this year.
