Rounding out the list at the number one slot, the big man from the Big Easy, Anthony Davis

I know what many people are thinking, Davis is both a power forward and a center. This being said, I think that a case can be made that says he is the best player at both positions in the NBA today. He plays both power forward and center, but he is only 6’10”, so compared to some of the other centers on this list, he is a bit undersized. However, this does not stop him, as during his four-year career he has been the life and soul of the New Orleans Pelicans. He almost single-handedly took the Pelicans to a playoff berth in the 2014-2015 season, only to be beaten in the first round by the eventual champion Golden State Warriors. He has cemented his place as a superstar in the NBA, and he’s only getting better! Davis averaged over 24 points and 10 rebounds per game last season, and he holds a career field goal percentage close to 52 percent. Over the past season he has been trying to develop a bit of a range game, and it is coming, as he shot 108 threes last season, making 35 of them.

As far as defense and his free throws, they are great too. Davis has shot 78 percent from the line during his four-year career, and averages over two blocks per game. That’s not too shabby for someone who can be considered under-sized. Another thing that works in his favor is that he is only 23 years old! Out of all of the younger guys in the NBA today, none have as much potential as Anthony Davis, as the sky is the limit for him and his possible talent.

The center is one of the most important positions on a basketball team, and these ten guys epitomize that. Many of these guys are either the true leader or play a major role within their respective organizations, and they are players to keep a close eye on during the upcoming NBA season.
