NBA: Ranking the NBA’s Top 10 Current Centers
By Blake Holmes
Just out of the top seven, the new Boston Celtic, Al Horford.
When it comes to a good center in the NBA, there aren’t too many that have had the career that Al Horford has had. Coming from a loaded Florida team, Al Horford has been an absolute beast. He has scored over 14 points in 7 of his 9 season in the NBA, and he continues to impress. With the ability to hit the three ball, Al Horford continues to add new dimensions that will continue to make him a quality big in the NBA. Horford, who received mix feeling from Atlanta fans, is lacking the explosive touch that the other have which is one reason that he slide outside the top six. Horford was privileged to play every single game for the Hawks last season, but that makes you wonder, now that he is 30, how much more does he have in the tank?
Wait, this is a current centers list, not a past centers list. Even though Horforrd still has plenty of talent and is playing in a weaker Eastern Conference, I could not put him in the top five. Although he has had an incredible career, I just don’t believe that he has enough in the tank to continue to put up those great numbers. The top seven, which are obviously all ranked higher than him, have mostly not reached their peak, and for this reason, Al was pushed down the list a bit.
Even though he isn’t in the top five, Al Horford has the talent to possibly prove me wrong in the next season for the Celtics.
Next: 7. Karl-Anthony Towns
