Emmanuel Mudiay

Emmanuel Mudiay last season showed the numerous aspects of his game that make him a promising talent. Mudiay showed exceptional playmaking capabilities, showing an ability to find his teammates and set them up for easy baskets. Mudiay also showed his strengths at attacking the rim and being an aggressive player on both sides of the floor. The most promising part of Mudiay’s rookie season was seeing his improvement after the all star break, improving his averages in almost every statistical category.

However, for Mudiay to improve he needs to work on his efficiency on the floor as well as his ability to knock down jump shots. Mudiay was one of the worst starting point guards in the league last year in terms of efficiency, stemming from his low shooting percentage and being turnover prone early in the year.  Mudiay showed some improvement late in the year in valuing the ball on offense and will need that to roll over into next season.

Mudiay has all of the tools to be a great starting point guard, but needs to improve on knocking down open mid range and three point shots at a higher percentage. Mudiay shot 36% from the field with 31% from three, figures that desperately need to be improved upon for Mudiay to become an elite point guard. A more efficient Mudiay will allow the Nuggets offense to run much smoother on the offensive side of the floor.
