Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic was a breakout rookie last year for the Denver Nuggets and was easily their best player most of the season. Jokic showed ability to knock down shots and an ability to stretch the floor at the center position. Jokic also put on display his incredibly versatile game, showing an ability to be a playmaker in the high post and have an uncanny feel for the game on the offensive end. Jokic also was solid defensively, effectively using his length to become a very adequate defender.

For how well Jokic played last season, he does have one glaring aspect of his game that needs improvement. Jokic needs to improve in the low post to complete his offensive toolkit. Jokic could benefit from getting stronger this offseason, giving him an ability to back people down and finish around the rim in the low post. Jokic will need to put on some muscle to compete with some of the more physical centers in the NBA.

Jokic easily has the highest ceiling of any player on the Nuggets at this point, and will be instrumental if the Denver Nuggets hope to return to the playoffs. A strong low post presence would make Jokic almost unstoppable offensively and could raise him to an all star level.
