#3: Allen Iverson

Allen Iverson was acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2006. At the time of the trade, the Nuggets had the two leading scorers in the NBA with Iverson and Carmelo Anthony.  Iverson only spent a season and a half with Denver or else he would probably be the best shooting guard in Nuggets history.

During his first season in Denver, Iverson averaged 26.4 points and 7.1 assists per game, outscoring his teammate Carmelo Anthony. His performance in this season was easily the best of any shooting guard in Nuggets history.  In Denver, Iverson had his best shooting percentage in his career and showed he was still a dominant scorer despite being past his prime. His points per game averages are still near the top of the list in Nuggets history alongside names like Alex English and Carmelo Anthony.

Iverson was able to lead the Nuggets to the playoffs in both seasons, but never found postseason success as they lost in the first round both appearances. Along with his on court performances, Iverson had the biggest star power of any Nuggets player ever. He was an all star both seasons in Denver and put them on the national radar. It is no coincidence that one of the best NBA shooting guards of all time is also one of the best Nuggets shooting guards of all time.
