Trade Machine Results: Nuggets -1 Wins, 76ers +1 Wins

This trade seems to slightly favor the 76ers, and it might. However, this trade could pay off better for the Nuggets with time.

Why the 76ers would do it:

The could use a player like Faried. His age, physicality, and ability to fire up a crowd all seem perfect for Philadelphia at the moment. Ben Simmons has brought a good amount of attention to the team, but so did DeAngelo Russel wiith the lakers, and we all know how that turned out.

Adding Faried would bring valuable experience and ability. His offensive rebounding would give the young team more chances to develop chemistry, similarly to his role on the Nuggets now. Faried would essentially remain the same player, only as a 76er.

The Nuggets seem slightly more ready to grow out of their rebuilding phase than the 76ers. Kenneth Faried helped them get to that position. Now, the Nuggets may be ready to seek a more offensively diverse PF. The 76ers could use Faried’s presence to temporarily boost their play. A long-term relationship between Faried and the 76ers seems unlikely. On the other hand, a short-term deal, perhaps to the end of his current 3 year contract, could help nudge them in the right direction.

Nurkic would make for another young player with unexplored potential for the 76ers. He would probably play back-up to Joel Embid. The two could see some healthy competition that boosts both players’ productivity.

Why the Nuggets would do it:

The Nuggets aren’t too likely to go to Philadelphia if they shop Faried. If they did, the acquisition of Noel and Okafor would make the most sense. Both players are young and oozing potential, just like the majority of the Nuggets’ players. With key players nearing their inevitable decline, the Nuggets will evntually need to acquire new talent, and the combo of Noel and Oakafor, both likely to come off the bench, could pay off big time.

The two would get a chance to mature together, and could open up some healthy competition with Nikola Jokic. These situations often bring the best out of all players involved. Coaches know this, as it would probably play a big role in considering the trade proposed.
