Nuggets Hit 10 of 10 Field Goals and Defeat the Spurs (In The First Quarter)
The Art of Adjustments
San Antonio made adjustments. While they were beat the first quarter, their experience brought their adjustments. If they missed a stroke on offense or defense, they covered it with something else from their pallet.
It was stated that they do not nearly care as much about what their opposition does; they focus on what they do.
Popovich called a time out after the Spurs had a 10-2 run on the Nuggets because someone missed an assignment and the Nuggets scored! He was upset because there was a one second lapse in effort after a 10-2 run on the Nuggets! He didn’t care what the Nuggets did; he cared what his team did.
He was not going to let his team play sloppy, or miss an assignment. Not one.
This focus and determination comes with experience and time and desire. It has more to do with focus than it has to do with talent. It’s called tenacity.
We discuss that our defense was good for the first half and dropped the second. San Antonio was good on defense the second half. Why? Tenacity: Relentless effort.
