Position Tweaking

If Jameer is outmatched by a bigger or quicker guard; adjust.

How? Help, talk, trap, force the action, as in chess. Or substitute. Coach, you figure this out.

If Mudiay doesn’t have the lateral movement to stop Parker, get someone else on him or double the ball.

It is better to have Parker hit an open player if anticipate that we must rotate and help.

But we cannot stop putting pressure on the ball.

San Antonio put our boys in the pressure cooker. They were there for every play and they finally wore us out in Mile High Denver. We were supposed to have the wind, but they prevailed.

Pop knew when to substitute to the minute. He saw when focus or effort or attitude left a player and made a change.

For Pete’s sake, Nurkic, quit crying at every play. You look like a 280 pound baby when things don’t go your way. Lift your head up, look determined and think, I’ll see you next time, buddy.

Put your pants on and dominate. You have what it takes for Pete’s sake.
