Gallinari is very valuable despite some of his short-comings.

This year the obvious star and the building block of the Nuggets franchise Nikola Jokic. Now obviously for the Denver Nuggets to be a contender they need to find him some more help in the future.

As of right now the question who is the second best player on the Nuggets as of right now. You could make the argument for some of the our young guards, Gary Harris, Will Barton, or Emmanuel Mudiay(depending on the day).

Maybe you could even say Wilson Chandler is the second best player on the team, but the best player on the team as of the now is Danilo Gallinari.

Danilo Gallinari is not only a Nuggets fan favorite, but he is also playing some good basketball (17.2 ppg, 2.2 apg, 4.9 rpg, 15.92 PER per ESPN ).

Those are solid stats for the sweet shooting Italian. You could make the arguments he’s too old so he should not be considered, but he is only 28 so he could fit in as the veteran presence while still being able to shoot.

Though his scoring is down his 3 point percentage and overall shooting percentage are up from last year. He benefits from Jokic’s stellar passing and spaces the floor with his shooting.

Of course Gallinari won’t be one of the big cornerstone pieces of the future but as of now he is playing good for the Nuggets as they make a run for the playoffs.

He will need to keep us his production since the playoff race is getting tight and other teams start inching closer. It will be very imperative for Denver not to trade Danilo Gallinari as the trade deadline inches closer and closer.

Especially since the Pelicans added Demarcus Cousins to make a big playoff run the Nuggets will need Jokic and Gallinari to lead the Nuggets into the playoffs and then into the future of the franchise.
