Denver redeemed themselves against the Nets.

The Denver Nuggets made up for their blunder from the other night in Sacramento. While they only beat the lowly Brooklyn Nets, it is a step in the right direction to kick off the second half of the season.

With Portland and Sacramento creeping up on the 8th seed, it was imperative for the Nuggets to win this game. With the win, Denver snapped a 5 game win streak in Denver for the Nets and should be able to string some games together to keep their 8th position.

I will admit, once again, I was completely wrong in my Nikola Jokic prediction. Even though I guaranteed he would not struggle again like he did in Sacramento, he did just that. He got into early, crucial foul trouble, and just didn’t mesh well in the scheme during this game. He finished with only 2 points while finishing with 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Definitely not the typical outing for the Joker as he seems to be in a post All-Star slump.

The man of the night however, was Gary Harris. He led the way with 25 points as he showcased his athleticism by cutting to the rim like he is so good at. He also grabbed 1 steal while posting a box plus/minus of +12. Denver was very efficient tonight as they had 5 different players finish in double figures in the point department. Mason Plumlee, one of the newest acquisitions, had his best game as a Nugget in his short tenure so far. He was on triple-double watch all night as he finished with his first double-double as a Denver Nugget.

Gallinari also did well as he scored 20 points in this game. After the lack luster performance in Sacramento, it was great to see the Nuggets bounce back with an efficient outing in the Pepsi Center.

With this newly captured momentum, hopefully the Nuggets can ride it to a string of wins in order to build a cushion for the playoff spot in the Western Conference.
