Denver played arguably the best first half of the season on a back-to-back road game against the Bucks, Wednesday night. And this was after beating Chicago the night before.

The Denver Nuggets hold off the Milwaukee Bucks 31-7 run and sweep the series, 110-98 on the back of Nikola Jokic’s consecutive triple-double.

Their passing was crisp, Nikola was getting a consecutive triple-double and defense was great on controlling the Bucks All-Star player Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Four minutes into the second half the Nuggets were up 31 points. Their passing and unselfish play absolutely demolished the Wolves. At one point they passed the ball 9 times in 12 seconds which ended in a clean layup for Harris. When they pass, they leave the other team behind.

The starters played outstanding unselfish ball, headlined by Jamal Murray as a rookie-starting point guard, due to Jameer Nelson’s illness. It was a Golden State like offensive execution for the first half. It was beautiful to watch.

Then the starters needed a rest. During the third quarter, and into the fourth, that 31 point lead dwindled to 12. Coach Malone finally went back to his starters at 4:14 remaining in the fourth. Nikola Jokic settled things down, and the Nuggets outlasted a good young Milwaukee team.

“When we put our guys (starters) back in, obviously Nikola has that kind of impact where he is a calming influence,” Denver coach Michael Malone said. “You put the ball in his hands; keep on cutting, keep on moving and something good is going to happen.”
