The actual game
The Nuggets took control of the game towards the end of the first quarter and it would be hard to argue that it wasn’t much of a contest for the rest of the evening. To be fair, the Lakers were flying into Denver for a 8:30pm MTN prime-time start following their own double header at home the night before.
There was a -11 point spread going into the game, which I thought was to much initially, but now wish I put part of my child’s education fund into it. (Guys – I would never..blow my spot on this blog. Come on, of course I would dabble; that kid can work for it like I did.)
The highlight and main takeaway of this game, not only in the first half, but on both sides, was Will Barton. You can go ahead and let the diary companies know they can take his picture off the side of the milk carton, following Will’s disappearance following the All Star break. Dude suckedddd.
Yet, so much focus has been on the absence of Mudiay that Will Barton’s absence has been not fully appreciated.
Unless you ask those who know:
I cannot handle Barton crushing so many good looks. He has been terrible recently.

Barton has been awful for a month now.

That said, glad the see The Thrill back in the fold. He will surely be needed as we continue down the stretch to the 2017 playoffs and beyond. People forget he was part of the All Star attendees last year. He was that good. People forget. (While we are at it – Plumlee was ALSO in the dunk contest. This team is stacked. FYI.)
