The Nuggets won games over the Celtics, Clippers, Cavs, and Pacers, only to lay an egg and play terribly against the Cousins-less Pelicans. Despite the loss, Nuggets fans need to still show up to games and support the team.

Heading into the closing stretch of the season, the Nuggets are on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs. Although the Nuggets have played good recently, outside of the Pelicans game, Portland has played just a little better.

Winners of seven of their last ten games, Portland was able to swoop in and steal the eighth seed away from Denver. Even though both teams have the same record, Portland has the tie breaker, even if the Nuggets win tonight’s game.

Tonight will be the biggest game for Denver in over three years, and it is pivotal as to whether or not they will make the playoffs or not. Tim Connelly and company have done a terrific job in rebuilding the team. Two years ago, the Nuggets were completely lost, as the players started chanting, “1, 2, 3… 6 weeks!”

Just two years later, the team only has seven players from that season, two of which they traded for that season. Now, Denver is tied for the eighth seed and very close to making the playoffs.

Having found their franchise player and surrounded him with great players, Denver’s front office has done an amazing job at doing a complete 180 and helping get this team back on the right track.

They have recently lost the eighth seed, and most of national media is counting them out. Even if the Nuggets lose out on making the playoffs, they have progressed significantly and have one of the brightest futures in the NBA. Making the playoffs would help the team, but it isn’t a necessity. They are only going to get better with multiple players on the team being 26 and under.

The young squad got demolished in their last game. The Nuggets yielded a crowd that was almost sold out and the game had great energy, even in a losing effort. For a team that is last in attendance, the Nuggets need more fans and one bad game doesn’t define a team. Denver is a good team that played terrible for one game. Fans should still pay attention to them.
