Gordon Hayward.

Gordon Hayward is practically in the middle of his prime. He’s showing his true leadership and value as he keeps progressing.

He averaged a good 21.9 PPG while shooting 40% from downtown. He’s 27 years old. And if you look at how he’s playing against the Clippers in this playoff series, you can see why his future is bright.

Hayward has proved to be an scoring machine from all parts of the court. Mid range, close, three point. Has great handles, great IQ and great instinct.

Any takers? I sure am. And we all know all the headaches Hayward gives us anytime he and the Jazz face the Nuggets.

Keeping him in Utah will surely cost a lot more. And he has the option to opt out of his contract this summer and test free agency. But I think that depends on his playoff results.

If I was Connelly, I was the first one to call Hayward and try to negotiate. He can be that missing piece that Denver needs. He’s not an elite defender, but he’s decent enough. And posting 20 points a night gives an absolute boost for this team that they desperately need.

Things look good in terms of money for the Nuggets. They are capable to offer any deal they want. The problem is whether the players want to be here or not.
