Denver made a ton of progress this season that did not get noticed.

The Denver Nuggets came very close to the post season. Unfortunately, they just did not do enough in the end. However, that does not necessarily mean that the Nuggets were a bad team this season.

No, as a matter of fact, if you ask other teams’ fans, many of them will tell you that Denver was actually decent this season. Some may even admit that the Nuggets gave them a scare or two as well.

Obviously there were downsides throughout the season, but there were also plenty of bright spots. Do not forget that this team upset both of the championship teams from last year (Golden State and Cleveland). Or how about how well the rookies progressed and Jamal Murray looks like he could actually be the point guard of the future for the Nuggets?

Of course, we cannot forget about the tale of Nikola Jokic. Jokic became Denver’s superstar in the making after being inserted into the starting lineup and swapping out Jusuf Nurkic in the process. Also, what goes overlooked is the fact that the Nuggets had one of the best high powered offenses in the entire league.

They were outstanding from the perimeter even rivaling Golden State and Houston in that regard. Sure, being the ninth seeded team in the Western Conference is not glamorous, but the Nuggets made great progression this season. Remember a few years ago when Phoenix was the ninth seed in the West? Before they became a bottom feeder? They missed the playoffs barely, yet they were still dangerous that year. That was the same case for the Denver Nuggets this year.

Denver may have not been grabbing headlines day in and day out, but they were one of the more intriguing story lines from the season. The Denver Nuggets may have not made the post season this year, but they were still a good team that gave teams that were better than them many fits.
