Coming in at number two is the small forward, Wilson Chandler.

Wilson Chandler has been a reliable forward for the Nuggets during his tenure. He’s been a veteran for the younger guys, while still putting up decent numbers on the court. Chandler has fought for a while with Danilo Gallinari for the starting spot at the small forward, with Gallo winning the battle for now.

The reason that I say it wouldn’t be so bad to trade him is that the Nuggets have veterans. They don’t need to keep him around, and if the asking price is right, then it wouldn’t be so bad to pull the trigger. Not to mention, it was rumored during the last season that Wilson Chandler didn’t want to be in Denver anymore.

If it is true, and he does not want to play for the Nuggets anymore, then why should they keep him? There are players that can take his spot, whether they are on the roster already or if they need to be added. There are several other teams who could want a veteran small forward, and Chandler could be happier there.

He averaged around 16 points per game last season (per basketball-reference) and had a few high scoring games last season. If a team gives a good price for him, why not take it? The Nuggets could resign Gallinari or even go after someone like Gordon Hayward to take his spot. If that doesn’t work, then Juancho Hernangomez could step up and take his role, or even move one of the shooting guards. Denver could also look to the draft and pick up somebody like O.G. Anunoby or Justin Jackson.
